Lamellar armour was mainly worn in the late Roman period and the early Middle Ages. The lamellar armour can consist of bronze or leather plates and it originates from the Middle East. In the early Middle Ages armour like this was mainly used by the Turks, Mongols, Avar and Russian people.
The armour is made of 3,5 ? 4,0 mm thick cowhide plates that overlap each other, it can be made of brown or black leather. The armour can easily be put on with straps at the sides.
