This is a replica of a helmet that is depicted in the church of St Johannes and Paulus in Spoleto from approx. 1170. Helmets like this were introduced by the Normans in Italy.

This helmet is made of 1,6 mm thick steel and has a leather strap to fasten it under the chin. It is suitable for a head circumference up to 62 cm and weighs approx. 2,2 kg.
