The katara is an Indian weapon that was mainly used around the 18th century. India has a long tradition of using medieval weapons and equipment like chain mail, sabres and spears until the beginning of the 19th century.
This katara is made after an original that is nowadays exhibited at the Wallace Collection in London. It has a length of 51 cm with a blade of approx. 27 cm and it weighs approx. 750 g. It is available with a blunt or sharp tip and it can be delivered blunt or sharp. It is delivered including a scabbard.
