This helmet is a replica of an Imperial Italic helmet found in Pompeii. Helmets like this were worn around the 1st century BC and the 1st half of the 1st century AD. Helmets of this type still had obvious Etruscan and Attic influences.
This helmet is made of 1,6 mm thick bronze just like the original. Strikingly enough the short neck protection is riveted to the helmet. The short neck protection gives the impression that this helmet was possibly used for cavalry purposes as well. It is suitable for a head circumference of 60 up to 63 cm.
This item is a museum replica.
