The bastard sword or the hand-and-a-half sword was probably called like this because it was nor a single-handed sword nor a two-handed sword. It could be used on both ways, where a second hand could be put on the pommel and half on the grip to put extra force behind the blows.

This sword has a length of 126 cm with a blade of 99,5 cm and a cross-guard of 26 cm. It weighs about 2,1 kg. The blade has a Rockwell hardness of 44-48 HRC.

This sword is made by Jiri Krondak from Prague. During the last 20 years, this line of swords proved themselves on the re-enactment fields. They are continually perfectionised to a reliable and inexpensive type of re-enactment swords

This sword is an Oakeshott type XVIIIb.

This sword is custom made.

Suitable for re-enactment and martial arts. The razor sharp version is suitable for cutting tests. The blade is handmade and tempered, using traditional forging techniques.
