This is a replica of a hand-and-a-half sword from the 2nd half of the 15th century. It has an Oakeshott type I pommel. Because the grip is partly covered with leather and partly with steel wire it has a completely unique character. Although most of the Oakeshott type XIX swords are single-handed swords a lot of hand-and-a-half swords of this type have also been found.
The sword is made of CSN 14260 steel with a Rockwell hardness of HRC 54 ? 56. It has a length of 117,9 cm and blade of 89,9 cm and its max. width is 4,4 cm. The length of the cross-guard is 22,5 cm. It weighs approx. 2000 grams. This sword is an Oakeshott type XIX.
