The original on which this armour is based, is the 16th century suit of armour made for Johann Georg I of Saxony. Similar suits of armour were used in the many wars of the 16thcentury.
The tassets consist of ten parts that end in the knee caps. The suit of armour is very light weighted and flexible. Around this period the heavy cavalry was equipped with pistols instead of the lance.
The armour is made of cold rolled plate steel. It is available with a steel thickness of 1,3 or 1,5 mm and with an unpolished, polished or bronzed finish.
This armour is a museum replica.
