This sallet is made after a 15th century original made in Germany. Nowadays it is part of the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Sallets like this were mainly worn during the 15th century and were used i.a. in the 100 Year War between England and France, the War of the Roses, the wars against the Turks and the battle of Flodden between England and Scotland.
This sallet is made of 2,0 mm thick steel. The nosepiece consists of 3 different parts for extra freedom of movement. The helmet is provided with a leather inlay. The helmet is suitable for a head circumference up to 62 cm.
