This helmet is a replica of an Anglian helmet excavated in York (England). The original dates from the 8th century AD and is a unique find because just few helmets from this period were excavated. The brass edge has an engraving, in translation: In the name of our Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God, and to all we say Amen, Oshere, Christ. The original is now part of the collection of the Yorkshire Museum. This helmet has a chainmail aventail. The aventail is made of butted round rings.
