Cuirasses like this were worn by the French cuirassiers around 1803. In contrary to the Austrian cuirassiers the French cuirassiers also had a backplate.
The set consists of a breastplate and a backplate that can be connected with straps. The cuirass weighs approx. 4 kg. It is available in unpolished or polished steel with a thickness of 1,3 mm or 1,6 mm.

Attaching armour & chainmail
To attach your armour or chainmail securely, you can attach leather laces to your gambeson and fasten these to your armour / chainmail. The armour thus remains in position during a fight.
Maintenance & care
Prevent rust and corrosion by oiling your armour regularly. Remove rust easily with black sandpaper.
