Japanese swords have been respected for centuries because of their elegant look and because they are forged in a special way. A tanto was a Japanese dagger. It was developed around 800 AD as a stabbing weapon, although it could also be used for slashing. The tanto was sometimes used as a second weapon by the samurai beside the katana.
This tanto is made by Cold Steel. It has a grip wrapped round with silk and it has a length of 15 cm. The sword has a length of 38 cm, a blade of 53 cm and a thickness of 8 mm. This sword weighs approx. 577 g.
