This sword is a replica of a Celtic original excavated in Melnik, Bulgaria. Swords like this were used by the Celts in the late Hallstatt / early La Tène period. It is developed from the earlier antenna swords. The Celts in Bulgaria lived inbetween the Greek and Roman / Etruscan cultures. They belonged to the richest people of this region.
This sword is completely hand-forged. Its length is 84 cm with a blade of 66,5 cm and it weighs approx. 1,2 kg. The blade is made of carbon steel with a hardness of 54 HRC. The cross-guards are made of iron.
