This bust is made after several originals from Greek antiquity. The Kouros was used in the ancient Greek art between 650 and 500 BC. The word kouros means young man, its female version is the kourè. Statues of the Kouros are exhibited in the British Museum, the Louvre, the Altes Museum in Berlin and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
This bust is made of plaster alabaster with an antique patina layer. It measures approx. 24 cm. It is provided with a marble pedestal.
