Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (188-217) is best known as Caracalla. He was born in Lugdunum, nowadays Lyon. His father, emperor Septimus Severus, was born in Leptis Magna; his mother was from Syria. He grew up as a gentle young man. It is told that he even looked away during gladiator fights when the fight became too bloody. But he was not only gentle, during an argument with his brother he named his horse consul.
This bust is completely handmade of alabaster. Its height is 14 cm. It is delivered including a black pedestal.
