This votive statue is a portrait of the mighty god Mercurius. In his hand he carries a money bag and he is recognisable by his winged sandals and hat. Votive statues like this were used throughout the whole Roman empire. Large collections of bronze votive statues are found in the British museum of Londen, the Römisch-Germanisches museum in Cologne and the archaeological museum in Naples.
