The beneficiarius was the sign for a Roman cohort. The holder was seen as very important and kept on a special place in time of peace. This holder is made after an original from the 1stcentury AD, found in the Rhineland. Nowadays it is part of the collection of the Landesmuseum in Bonn.
The length of the holder is 92 cm and the maximum width is 29 cm. It is made of steel and is decorated with brass motives.
