15th century gothic cuirass

This gothic chest cuirass is made in the German style of the early 15th century. Harness parts like this were worn all over Europe and later influenced by Italian styles. Cuirasses like this are nowadays part of the Wallace Collection in London, the National Museum of Vienna, the National Museum of Prague, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Musée de L'Armée in Paris.

The cuirass can easily be adjusted to the right size with straps on the back and it can be combined with other armour parts.

The armour is made of cold rolled steel. It is available with a steel thickness of 1,3 mm; 1,5 mm or 2,0 mm.

Do you wear a gambeson: add 10-15 cm to your circumference.
Do you wear a gambeson and hauberk: Add 15-20 cm to your circumference.
Tip: Is this armour too big for you? You can easily add extra padding.

Attaching armour & chainmail
To attach your armour or chainmail securely, you can attach leather laces to your gambeson and fasten these to your armour / chainmail. The armour thus remains in position during a fight.

Maintenance & care
Prevent rust and corrosion by oiling your armour regularly. Remove rust easily with black sandpaper.
