The plackart offered an extra protection of the belly. Breastplates like this were used from the 14th century onwards. Perhaps the most well known example is the plackart of the Churburg armour. The plackart has a widening at the lower edge to offer extra freedom of movement. It can easily be combined with other armour parts.
This breastplate can be made with a steel thickness of 1,6 or 2,0 mm and can be polished.
