The kettle hat was a type of helmet that was used through whole Europe. It was mainly worn by infantrymen because the wide edge provided a good protection against blows from above (from cavalry) or projectiles that were thrown by the besieged. Kettle hats were worn since the beginning of the 11th century and were very high rated, although not in the beginning because they were not knightly enough.
This helmet is handmade of 2 mm thick steel. It has a leather inlay and a chinstrap with an authentic buckle. It is available in three sizes. Size S is suitable for a head circumference up to 58 cm, size M is suitable for a head circumference up to 62 cm, size L is suitable for a head circumference up to 65 cm.

Add 3,5 cm to your head circumference if you wear an arming cap under your helmet.
Add 2,5 cm to your head circumference if you wear a chainmail coif under your helmet.
Add 6 cm to your head circumference if you wear both an arming cap and a chainmail coif under your helmet.
Maintenance & care
Prevent rust and corrosion by oiling your armour regularly. Remove rust easily with black sandpaper.
