Swords like this were forged between the 12th and 14th century, although just few originals have been excavated.

This sword has a blade of EN45 carbon steel with a Rockwell hardness of 50 HRC. The point of balance is situated 7 to 8 cm below the cross-guard. The pommel and cross-guard are made of steel. The grip is covered with leather and made of wood. It weigh approx. 1250 g.

This sword is an Oakeshott type XII.
