This mug is made after a 12th century original made in Pingsdorf. The mug was part of a German-Dutch tradition where originals like this were made from the early Middle Ages on. This type of pottery is clearly identifiable by her light colour and red decoration. This type of pottery was presumably exported through whole Europe.
This mug is made of clay from the Rhineland, just like the original. Its height is 9,5 cm.
